RoadTrip Tour 2012 — From Texas to Vermont
June 20, 2012

The journey has begun! And we’ve already made it to Northern Vermont! But we have many more miles and smiles to share on the road as we slice across this country for the rest of 2012! Perhaps we’re headed to your neck of the woods, we’d love to visit! Our cat Kamikaze has been a real trooper enduring long drives by sitting on Jefe’s shoulder or lap. FUN FACT: Diesel Engines idle at the same frequency as a cat’s purr.

This stretch hasn’t been hassle-free. We’ve already had a very expensive repair done and Jefe is doing his best to solve other issues by getting his hand’s dirty. One morning after getting diesel at a small station in Connecticut, we were inches away from getting stuck under a low bridge and had to be escorted by Police to block off 4 lanes of traffic and get out of our predicament. Deep breaths and a sense of humor go a long way!
Highlights thus far have been plenty. We spent quality time with Jenni (Jefe’s sister) who hitched a ride to our grandparents place in Virginia, seeing beautiful Asheville, North Carolina en route. We also stayed with Jefe’s Cousins up in Connecticut and enjoyed their good cheer and open land. Most recently, we’ve soaked in the scenery of Vermont connecting with friends from college and other travels. If you’ve never been to Burlington, Vermont, put it on your list! It definitely fits within the Austin-Portland-Asheville vibe that we so adore. Would love to share more, but hopefully the pictures below will aptly paint the lovely times we’ve enjoyed so far! As Grandma says, we’re “ON THE ROAD AGAIN!”
